What Factors Should I Consider To Do My Essay Properly?
Start by reading the instructions.
Then read them again. Sometimes writing an essay can be a little scary and when we are anxious we tend to make mistakes or part of the instructions, which could cause you to hand in your work late.
Once you have read though the instructions, start making a ‘to do plan’ before starting to write your essay.
Mark in your diary the date that the work needs to be handed in.
Mark in your diary a few days prior to the handing in date, this will be the date that you must get your essay finished.
Now you have ready the instructions do you need to speak to your tutor for any clarification? If you need to need to speak to them, make an appointment to talk to them. Prepare for the meeting by writing down the issues and preferably send them an email prior to the meeting so they have time to think about their response. This will save you time.
Not sure of your topic? Try searching for ideas on the internet. There are several websites that offer title lists for most types of essays.
Once you find a site that offers a good selection pick out three or four topics that you feel comfortable with.
Take a bit of time to brainstorm each of these ideas (5-6 minutes each should be enough). There will probably be at least one topic that you are going to feel you would like to use.
Decide what other information you need and make a list. If you are writing a comparative essay then make sure that you have a balance between the two things that you are comparing. Use the internet or library to get your information.
Schedule that time that you are going to spend writing. Choose a place where you are comfortable working and have few distractions. Be realistic, take breaks and read through your work often.
Make sure that you writing follows that usual format of Introduction, Main and Conclusion. Check that you have constructed your paragraphs correctly. In every paragraph the first sentence will introduce the content of the paragraph and the last sentence will act as a concluding sentence but also will be introducing the subject of the nest sentence.
Take time to read through your work carefully. Preferably as you have spent so much time on the work, try to get someone else to read proofread.
